Czech TV advertising up

Advertising spend on Czech television defied market trends, rising by 13% in March, according to a TNS Media Intelligence report cited by the Dow Jones newswire service.

The report comes just a two days before CME (www.cetv-net.com), owner of Czech commercial station TV Nova and the leading TV player in Central and Eastern Europe, issues its first quarter report.

Czech ad spend was CZK2.72 billion (just over 100 million Euros) in March, a 13% increase over March 2008. All other advertising segment revenues declines, with the overall ad market showing a 2.1% drop.
