Habermann's Mill takes Bavarian Film Award prizes

    Habermann's Mill, a Czech-German-Austrian co-production from Slovak born Czechoslovak New Wave director Juraj Herz, won two awards at the Bavarian Film Prize ceremonies in Munich on January 15.

    Herz won best director and German actor Mark Waschke won best actor in the film about a wealthy owner of a sawmill with a Jewish wife, in a story set in the Sudetenland region connecting German and the Czech Republic in WWII.

    The film is set for its Czech premiere on March 18, distributed by Bontonfilm (www.bontonfilm.cz). The film was produced by Art Oko Film (art-oko-film@t-online.de) and Czech production film KN Filmcompany (This email address is being protected from spambots.
