PRAGUE: Box office for Czech multiplexes rose by over CZK 200 million in 2010, nearly 20%, to a total of CZK 1.3 billion. Attendance at multiplexes rose by almost 9%, to 9.5 million.
According to a report in the Prague Monitor, since the opening of the first Czech multiplex in 1999, there are now 206 multiplex screens in the Czech Republic. Multiplexes accounted for 70% of cinema attendance in 2010, according to the results of the Czech Union of Film Distributors.
