Estonia Wins Anim'est Prize

    BUCHAREST: Estonian animation director Ulo Pikkov won the main prize of the 6th Anim'est festival of animated film for Body Memory.

    The Romanian festival screened 59 films from 26 countries. Body Memory is a 9 minute film based on the idea that a body contains memories of one's ancestors. As the winner of the Anim'est festival (www.animest.ro), the film will be the festival's submission for the Cartoon d'OR European competition for 2012. This is the first year the festival will submit a film to Cartoon d'OR.

    "I am happy as a tornado in a parking lot or a mole with eagle eyes! You've made ​​me feel like a tornado," the director said in a statment that was read at the closing ceremony.
