FilmEstonia.eu Launches in Cannes

By FNE Staff

The Estonian film commission will be officially rolled out during this year's Cannes film market under the brand FilmEstonia.eu.

FilmEstonia.eu plans to market Estonia as an undiscovered European location to foreign producers, focusing on low to mid-budget film and TV productions from Europe, Russia and Asia. Estonia will be positioned as a highly efficient, low-cost and high-tech European destination with undiscovered locations and four seasons.

FilmEstonia.eu will provide location scouting services, offer producers and directors free scouting trips to the country, channel contacs and facilitate the few official procedures necessary. A key goal of FilmEstonia.eu is the introduction of local incentive funding beginning in 2013.

The launch coincides with the celebration of the 100th jubilee of Estonian cinema in 2012. The FilmEstonia.eu pavillion will be located in the Pantiero section of the Cannes film market.
