TALLINN: Estonian writer/director Kadri Kõusaar will begin shooting her third feature, the Estonian/Swedish/Norwegian coproduction Nordic Instinct in early 2015 in Estonia and Norway.
The film is a coproduction from Aet Laigu of Meteoriit Film OÜ, Norway’s Hummelfilms and Zentropa Sweden International and stars Swedish actors Mikael Persbrandt and Malin Buska, both attending the Black Nights Film Festival. The film-noir story based on Lang by Scandinavian writer Kjell Westö is the tale of a relationship between a TV personality and a much younger woman. “Her ex-husband puts him into a situation where he has to decide what he is prepared to sacrifice in the name of love,” Laigu said.
The 2.4m EUR film received development support from the Estonian Film Institute and the Estonian Cultural Endowment. Laigu told FNE, “The entire crew for the shoot in Estonia will be Estonian and we will continue our long-lasting collaboration with Estonian sound recordists from 1 Agentuur / B6 Studios.”
The film is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015 for release at end 2015/early 2016.
