By

TALLINN:  The 19th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (13-29 November 2015) will run a new Tridens First Feature Competition and will expand the Works in Progress programme. The new Sales Agents and Distributors Meeting Point will also showcase competition films to help them find partners for sales and distribution

Black Nights Film Festival programmers are prepping two international competition programmes in sync with this year's upgraded industry events. Continuing in the festival's ambition to discover and showcase films from diverse regions, the main International Competition sets out to offer a meticulously curated programme with a global reach, connecting Eastern Europe with both Americas and Asia. Tridens First Feature Competition will present fresh talent from all over the world.

Also, after a successful first year, Industry@Tallinn will continue the European Genre Forum, a talent lab for genre film directors, producers, SFX, VFX specialists and music writers.

The festival is also expanding the Works in Progress structure, adding a whole new section with about 15 works from around the world to the existing successful showcase run by the Baltic Event co-production market (http://be.poff.ee/). This ties in with the First Features Competition programme, as the directors and producers of the films there receive preferential treatment in the selection process with their next projects. The deadline for Works in Progress is 4 October 2015.
