The construction budget is estimated at 5.7M EUR, plus a further 1M EUR investment in the digital post-production centre provided by Enterpirse Estonia. Financing comes from the Europan Union structural funds (30%) and Tallinn University, BFM's parent institution. The new buidling includes a sound stage for film production with adjacent storage and workshops, a TV-studio with control room, a cinema hall, editing and sound mix suites, a Dolby-ready sound recording studio and multimedia centre.
The digital post-production centre is a joint venture between the Baltic Film and Media School, the national film agency Estonian Film Foundation and the Union of Estonian Post-Production Companies. Mixing film school with a commercial enterprises aims to bring together young filmmakers and production companies, facilitating the transfer of graduates to the audiovisual industry and giving the latter first-look access to new talent.
