By

TBILISI: Ciné-DOC, the region's pioneering documentary IFF, launching 15-20 October, has announced its submission deadlines for the international competition section and the Focus Caucasus screenings.

Non-fiction films longer than 45 minutes, made in the past three years with English subtitles, will be accepted online, via password-protected links, through 10 August. For international submissions, organizers said, "We accept only creative documentaries, no TV reports," organizers said, noting that documentaries that "take a real-life subject as their starting point but require substantial original writing and set out an author’s and/or director’s point of view" are the goal.

Focus Caucasus, which also welcomes work from Turkey or Russia, presents an "overview on the best documentary films from the Caucasus region or dealing with the Caucasus" and accepts films of any length, made over the last five years.

The fest's Ciné-DOC Young section is open to videos or films of any length from the last five years celebrating youth experiences, screening to audiences of children and teenagers. Georgian Panorama screens work selected by the Georgian Film Center (www.gnfc.ge).
