FESTIVALS: CinéDOC-Tbilisi Ready to Kick Off

    TBILISI: The 3rd edition of CinéDOC-Tbilisi, the only International Documentary Film Festival in the Caucasus, will take place from 21 to 25 October 2015.

    The festival focusing on creative documentaries will screen award winning films from Europe, Israel, the USA and the Caucasus region. The festival has an international competition, the Caucasus competition and CinéDOC-Young competition, focusing on children and teenagers.

    The jury of the international competition consists of Debra Zimmerman, Daniel Sponsel, Anais Desrieux, Hedva Goldschmidt and Ineke Smits. The Focus Causasus Competition is made up of Martichka Bozhilova, Nino Orjonikidze and Audrius Stonys. The CinéDOC-Young jury consists of children and teenagers.

    The programme also includes industry meetings and workshops for documentary filmmakers and producers from the region. Those include Swedish filmmakers Karin Ekberg and Johanna Berhardson and Sakdoc Film, with the support of the Swedish Institute, who will hold a workshop for female documentary filmmakers from the Caucasus.

    The Georgian documentary production company Sakdoc will also organize the 7th edition of the film pitching session Pitch.Doc on 22-24 October 2015. Directors and producers from Georgia will pitch their projects in development, production or postproduction to a panel of producers, representatives of international funds, sales agents and commissioning editors.

    This year the festival launches a new section, Guest Country focusing on Israel, and in partnership with Frontline Club Georgia, will present the section Women in Frame
