Georgian Film House of Others Wins Satellite Award for Best First Feature

    LOS ANGELES: House of Others by Georgian director Rusudan Glurjidze received the Satellite Award for Best First Feature from the International Press Academy on 18 February 2017.

    The list of nominations for the Satellite Award for Best Motion Picture, International Film included Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann.

    House of Others by Rusudan GlurjidzeHouse of Others was also nominated for the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) award. The film’s DoP is Gorka Gómez Andreu.

    House of Others is a Georgian/Russian/Spanish/Croatian coproduction, produced by Cinetech in coproduction with Liga Productions, Kinoskopik, Embrio Production and Sarke Studio. It was supported by the Georgian National Film Center.

    The list of awards includes prizes at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the Bergen International Film Festival, the Eurasia International Film Festival and the Tbilisi International Film Festival.

    House of Others had been also selected as Georgia’s bid for the 2017 Academy Awards but it was not shortlisted.
