Slovakia sends Four Films to Brussels

    The Slovak Audiovisual Center (www.aic.sk) has sent four film to Brussels for festival celebrating the 20th anniversary of V4, the Visegrad alliance. The V4 festival of films runs through 17 March 2011.

    Slovakia's participation includes two documentary films, representing the national film industry's recent strength in documentary filmmaking; Slovakia's biggest box office hit; and a representative of the tradition of children's films. The Slovak films are: Bathory directed by Juraj Jakubisko; Blind Loves directed by Juraj Lehotský; Cooking History directed by Peter Kerekes; and Thomas the Falconer directed by Václav Vorlíček.

    Attending on behalf of Slovakia are Kerekes and Slovak Film Institute's (www.sfu.sk) Miroslav Ulman.
