New Hungarian Development Grants Announced

    BUDAPEST: Two new features and one long documentary received a total of 8 million HUF/27,256 EUR as development grants from the Hungarian National Film Fund (www.filmalap.hu) on 28 June 2012.

    The projects are Hurok, produced by Tamás Hutlassa through Café Film (www.cafefilm.hu), Delfin/Dolphin, produced by Iván Angelusz and Péter Reich through Katapult Film Kft (www.katapultfilm.hu), and Kubala, produced by Tibor Kocsis through Flóra Film Int. Kft (www.florafilminte-c.cegbongeszo.hu).

    Hurok (the director is not yet known, nor the English title) received 1,500,000 HUF/5,110 EUR. Delfin/Dolphin, which will be directed by Ferenc Török, received 2,000,000 HUF/6,814 EUR. The film is a biopic of Alfréd Hajós (1878-1955), the first modern Olympic swimming champion and the first Olympic champion of Hungary.

    The new documentary from Tibor Kocsis, Kubala, received 4,500,000 HUF/15,332 EUR.
