BUDAPEST: Hungarian filmmaker Ibolya Fekete (Bolshe Vita, Chico) is in pre-production on her next film, Mom and Other Loonies in the Family (Anyám és más futóbolondok a családban).
The film is described as a zany tale of four generations of a family living through the 20th century, centered on the 94-year old mother who moved 27 times in her life as she dealt with the forces of history and its dangers, troubles, and conflicts. Polish actress, Danuta Szaflarska plays the mother.
The project is being produced by Cinema-Film Kft (www.cinemafilm.hu) in coproduction Hungarian National Film Fund, (www.filmalap.hu), KaBoAl Film (Bulgaria), and Toolbox Film (Danish). The budget is 1,550,000 EUR. The film received 190 m HUF from the Hungarian Film Fund and support from the Ministry of Natural Resources (www.nefmi.gov.hu), the MEDIA programme, and the Hungarian Cultural Fund NKA (www.nka.hu).
Shooting is scheduled to start in April 2013.
