The Hungarian-British co-production Colorado Kid, the debut feature from film critic Andras Vagvolgyi B, has moved into postproductionin England.
The movie is produced by Hungarian partner is Cameo Film (www.cameofilm.hu) with producer Attila Csaky and British co-production partner is Parallel Pictures (www.parallelpictures.co.uk) with producers Bill Chamberlain and Lee Chamberlain. Hungarian public broadcasting channel MTV (www.mtv.hu) is also a co-production partner.
The estimated budget is €1.5 million including €350,000 from the Motion Picture Foundation of Hungary (www.mmka.hu) and €220,000 from the Board of the Motion Picture Section of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary (www.nka.hu). Some 70% of the budget comes from Hungary and 30% from Britain.
The 32-day shoot took place in Hungary and included a two week sting at the MTV studio.
The story, which covers the period from 1956 to 1976, follows a young man who is accidentally caught up in the 1956 Hungarian revolution.
The premier of the movie is planned to September 2009. The Hungarian and international distribution rights are under negotiation.
