Hungarian Comedy Central expands to 24 hours

    Hungarian language Comedy Central (www.comedycentral.hu) extends its broadcast to 24 hours effective May 1, owner MTV Networks Hungary announced.

    In May the channel adds several new TV series, including My Wife and Kids and Home Improvement, as well as adding new episodes of The Simpsons.

    Hungarian content will remain on the program schedule. Hungarian host, performer and showman Andras Hajos has two programs. Also on the schedule is the popular TV show Stand-In, produced by Filmservice (www.filmservice.hu), a theatrical play performed by four actors, with a succession of improvisations based on satirical situations.

    Concurrent with the Comedy Central's move to 24 hour broadcasts, VH1 will be return to the the air in Hungary on a 24 hours schedule as well. Previously, programming time was divided between Comedy Central and VH1, with Comedy Central taking the 2 p.m. till 2 a.m. slot, and VH1 on the 2 a.m to 2 p.m. slot.
