Kőrösi elected as MMKA president

    Writer and editor Dr. Zoltán Kőrösi 48) has been selected as the new president of the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary (MMKA).

    Six MMKA board members were also elected. They are Dr. Péter Ákos Bod, Dr. László Baán, Dr. Árpád Kovács, Attila Bognár, György Durst and Veronika Bakonyi .

    Kőrösi was born in 1962 in Budapest and graduated from the University of ELTE in 1987. He worked at Hungarian Public Radio (Magyar Rádió) (www.radio.hu) as head of the literature department until 2007. He has been the member of the jury of Mediawave (http://mediawavefestival.hu) festival since 1998, and from 2001 through 2008 he was the member of the advisory committee of MMKA.

    He replaces outgoing president Ferenc Grunwalsky, who continues to serve as an honorary acvisory board member of Film New Europe.
