FNE at Hungarian Film Week: The Camera Murderer (Látogatók)

By Dávid Dercsényi

The Camera Murderer, a German language psycho-thriller from director Róbert Pejó (Dallas Pashamende) is a chamber film, taking place in a house over a lake.

The story is based on a popular Austrian novel by Thomas Glavinic, Die Kameramörderer. The dark story features a couple whose life is turned upside-down due to a visitation. Though there is a murder in the film, the real horror should appear inside the soul of the audience, the director says.

The international cast includes Dorka Gryllus from Hungary, Merab Nindze from Armenia, Andreas Lust from Austria and Swiss actress Ursula Lardi who previously appeared in The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke.

The film was supported by the MMKA (www.mmka.hu), commercial channel TV2 (www.tv2.hu) , the Austrian Film Institute (www.filminstitut.at), the Zurich Film Fund (www.filmstiftung.ch), the OKM, the Vienna Film Fund (www.filmfonds-wien.at), Swiss Television SF1 (www.sf.tv) and the Swiss Cultural Foundation. The production company is Mythberg Films (www.mythbergfilms.hu).
