PRODUCTION: Szász directs Goodbye Komárom

By Zsolt Gyenge

Hungarian director János Szász will be taking on an English speaking project with working title Goodbye Komárom.

Producer Ádám Neményi of Next Station Productions (http://www.nextstation.hu/main.html), who asked Szász to direct, told [origo] that the film will be made essentially with American financing but will be shot in Hungary, probably in the city of Győr. Neményi is also teaming up with Sheldon E. Schiffer of Parting Seas Productions (http://partingseasproductions.tripod.com/), based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Szász is currently casting the film, which he said will have both Hungarian and foreign actors, with internationally-known English actors in the main roles.

The script was written by Hungarian-American Amir Kovács. The film will tell the story of his parents, who were chased from the Hungarian city of Komárom during and again after the Second World War.
