FNE at Cinepecs 2010: Competition lineup announced

By Anna Franklin

The second edition of the CienPecs International Film Festival (www.cinepecs.hu) will take place in the Hungarian city Pecs, European Capitol of Culture 2010, from 4-10 October. The festival has two main international competitions: feature and documentary films. The focus is decidedly regional with all the feature films coming from Turkey, Central Europe and Germany.

This is the second year for the fest under the CinePecs label and fest artistic director Janos Keresnyei has introduced a number of changes and innovations. One of those will be the first ever FNE Visegrad Prix for best feature film coproduction from a Visegrad country. The jury will be headed by Czech director and actor Jiri Menzel, with Igor Korsic (Slovenia), Andrei Gruzsniczki (Romania), Annamaria Percavassi (Italy) and Andras Muhi (Hungary) joining him. Denes Szekeres, well known Hungarian producer and helmer of Tivoli Film (www.tivolifilms.com) is the fest director.
