Glass Tiger 3 Finds Box Office Success

    BUDAPEST: Glass Tiger 3, which opened in Hungarian cinemas in December 2010, sold 227,000 tickets in four weeks. A comedy is about a bunch of friends in the country trying to make a living of a roadside buffet, Glass Tiger 3 is still attracting big audiences and is expected to reach 300,000 admissions.

    {mosimage}Hungarian films were weak at the box office in the second half of 2009 and in 2010. Made in Hungary, a nostalgic rock 'n' roll musical which opened in February 2009, reached an audience of 225,000 in Hungary. Since then only the romantic comedy Poligamy sold more than 150,000 tickets. Of the remaining Hungarian films, only five film sold more than 10,000 tickets and none sold more than 35,000.

    {mosimage}The biggest national hit in the Hungarian cinemas in 2008 was A Kind of America 2, the sequel to the hit 2002 comedy, with 450,000 admissions.
