RIGA: The National Film Center of Latvia and the Riga Film Fund have increased their total cash rebate to 2.3 m EUR for 2017.
The budget for the cash rebate run by the National Film Centre of Latvia will be increased from 646,010 EUR for 2016 to 1.2 m EUR for 2017.
The rebates from the two organizations can be used in tandem, and both cash rebate schemes have an open deadline for submissions.
Latvia is also investing 7.5 m EUR in a slate of 16 feature length films to mark the 2018 centennial of the country. They will include six features, two animation films and eight documentaries. All of the films will have their premieres in 2018.
