    VILNIUS: Lithuanian director Gytis Lukšas is in preproduction with a Lithuanian-Danish coproduction Man’s Life in Autumn.

    Man’s Life in Autumn (based on a novel by prominent Danish author Jens Christian Grøndahl, Silence in October) dissects a deceptive relationship when a husband, whose wife has suddenly left him, is left alone to re-examine his past behaviour.

    Lukšas‘ last film, Vortex, was selected to represent Lithuania in the Oscar race for Best Foreign Language film. Recently the director became the first representative of the Baltic States elected to the Executive Committee of the Federation of European Film Directors.

    The cast includes American-Lithuanian theatre director Jonas Jurašas, Lithuanian actress Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė, and Gražina Balandytė and Juratė Vilūnaitė.

    The 1.3 m EUR film is produced by Baltic Productions and Denmark‘s Cacaofilm, with producers Morten Kaufmann, Stasys Baltakis, and Martynas Mickėnas.

    Filming will take place on location in Klaipeda, Vilnius, New York, Paris and Malaga. There will be two shooting periods of two weeks each, with the first period comencing in late October 2013
