VILNIUS: Spanish writer and director Daniela Féjerman is shooting her new feature The Wait/La Espera in Lithuania.
Based on a very personal story of the director, The Wait is about a Spanish couple, Daniel and Natalija, who travel to Eastern Europe to adopt a child. The initial enthusiasm of both turns into bewilderment and helplessness when they discover the rife corruption of child traffickers.
The leading roles are played by Spanish actress Nora Navas, who won the Goya award for Best Actress for her performance in Black Bread/Pa Negre, and actor Francesc Garrido. Along with Spanish crew will be Lithuanian actors including Larisa Kalpokaitė and Vytautas Kaniušonis.
The feature is produced by production company Tornasol Films in collaboration with Messidor Films, Televisión Española and Lithuania’s UAB Lietuvos Kino Studija.
The filming started on 29 December and will be finished by the 7 February.
