Swedish TV Series Hamilton Shoots in Lithuania

    VILNIUS: The Swedish production companies DramaCorp and Kärnfilm are shooting the 10-episode international spy thriller series Hamilton in Lithuania for TV4 and C More.

    Based on the bestselling novel by Swedish author Jan Guillou and directed by Erik Leijonborg, Hamilton is produced by DramaCorp and Kärnfilm for TV4 and C MORE in coproduction with ZDF.  It is the second TV series coproduction for Lithuanian producer Gabija Siurbytė and the local production company Dansu. A representative of the Lithuanian production company said the project has applied for Lithuanian film incentives and is awaiting an answer.

    The contemporary espionage thriller is set in Sweden, Germany, Russia and the USA, where the Swedish Agent Carl Hamilton is caught up in a murder investigation that seems to be linked to a series of public cyberattacks across Scandinavia. The lead role is played by rising Norwegian star Jakob Oftebro, whose credits include the Oscar-nominated epic Kon-Tiki, 1864 and the hit series Below the Surface.

    Leijonborg said, “I‘m filming for the third time with the Lithuanian film production company Dansu,“ and praised their professionalism.

    Principle photography began in Vilnius at the end of  May 2019 and will be completed at the beginning of July. The production will then move to Sweden.

    HamiltonThe television broadcast is planned for the end of 2019 at C More and the beginning of 2020 at TV4. Beta Film has the righs for international sales.
