Eurimages seminar in Lithuania

    The seminar EURIMAGES Fund: Support for European Film Industry will introduce the fund to filmmakers in Vilnius, Lithuania on November 7.

    The seminar is foremost designed for film producers, film distributors and public officials involved in activities related to the funding opportunities allocated to film and creative industries and the policy on film and audiovisual issues. The main aims are to present the EURIMAGES Fund to Lithuanian film and audiovisual industries operators; guide to the EURIMAGES funding programmes: Assistance for co-production; Assistance for distribution; and Assistance to digitisation for EURIMAGES funded projects; and present some cases from small industries like (Montenegro and similar) that could be used as practical examples of susses stories.

    A combination of case studies and consultations will be presented by participants of seminar. Film director and member of EURIMAGES Audrius Stonys, producer Uljana Kim, undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture Juozas Sirvinskas, Media Desk Lithuania manageress Renata Sukaityte will discuss possibilities of closer cooperation in 2009 with special guest of seminar, Vadim Lysikov, administrator of the Secretariat of EURIMAGES Fund.

    The European Cinema Support fund EURIMAGES supplied funding for two Lithuanian film projects: Low Lights (director Ignas Miskinis, producer Ieva Norviliene) received a €160,000 grant and Lithuanian/Latvian co-production, the animated feature The Golden Horse (directors Valentas Askinis and Signe Baumane) received a €350,000 grant.
