Lithuanian box office in decline

    Lithuania‘s movie theatres have posted 12.8 million Litas (3.7 million Euros) in box-office revenues in the first quarter of 2009, down 5% from the 13.5 million Litas (3.9 million Euros) during the same period one year ago.
    According to the Lithuanian Cinema Distribution Association (www.bombafilms.lt), the number of movie-goers decreased 15.9% to 948,590 visitors, the association said.

    The movie Yes, Man was the strongest performer in the first quarter of 2009, drawing 94,180 viewers and earning 1.27 million Litas (368,000 Euros) at the box-office.

    Cinema ticket prices in Lithuania are currently at 13.6 Litas (3.95 Euros).
