FNE at Cannes 2018: Macedonian Cinema in Cannes

By Macedonian Fim Agency

Meet Macedonian Film Agency in Cannes - SEE Pavilion #135 - Village International Riviera

Dear friends, with one film in the official competitive program, and four screenings on the film market, as well as with several significant promotional activities, Macedonian cinematography will be part of the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Through the Production Company Sisters & Brother Mitevski Macedonia participates in Cannes Programme Main Competition with the latest film by Nuri Bilge Ceylan - The Wild Pear Tree / Ahlat Agaci.

"The film is the strongest cultural medium, and we believe that its visibility of the most important film reviews in the world should be maximally used for a worthy presentation. In the past period we have been actively working to prepare a modern and attractive promotion of the Macedonian film in Cannes. The selection of a film with Macedonian minority participation in the main competition is a great success, but the other screenings on the film market are no less significant. The future of small cinematographies is in co-production projects, and among the strong competition in the world we can only parry with a well-organized promotion, which we especially struggled this year and made a lot of innovations. "

The Film Agency will promote Macedonia as a destination for filming in the daily editions of the Hollywood Reporter. In order to promote and improve the activities for promotion of Macedonia as a destination for filming, the Agency for Film also prepared a separate website www.filmingmacedonia.com for which special promotional slides were made with photographs of the most attractive locations for recording.

During the festival, the Film Agency of Macedonia is to sign an agreement for mutual cooperation in the field of co-production with the Kosovo Film Center, and while on the basis of previous agreements with the Bulgarian Film Center, a text was also prepared for signing an agreement for mutual cooperation the field of co-production.
