“(It was) a perfect combination of fun and art shot in a way which came naturally from the story. A really great deal of this camerawork is that it managed to put the audience in the head of the main actor,” said Greek DoP Olympia Mytilinaiou, president of the international jury.
DoP`s Rainer Klausmann (Switzerland) and Mattias Troelstrup (Denmark), director Gjorce Stavreski (Macedonia) and DoP`s agent Rebecca Fayyad Palud (France) were members of the jury.
The Silver Camera 300 went to Eric Gautier for the work on Jia Zhang-ke`s Ash Is Purest White. Polish cinematographer Łukasz Żal received the Bronze Camera 300 for Paweł Pawlikowski`s Cold War.
Over 95 feature, documentary and short films were screened in 14 programmes including 12 titles in the main feature film competition.
The festival closed with a premiere of Macedonian/Croatian/Slovenian short film Scout directed by Alex Cvetkov. It was followed by the screening of BlacKkKlansman by Spike Lee as the last film of the official selection.
The festival is organised by the Macedonian Film Professional Association and supported by the Macedonian Film Agency and the Muncipality of Bitola.
