FESTIVALS: Solo Wins the 10th Makedox 2019

    SKOPJE: Czech/French/Argentinian/Austrian coproduction Solo, directed by Artemio Benki won the Onion Award for best film in the main competition of the 10th edition of Festival of Creative Documentary Film Makedox. The festival took place from 21 to 28 August 2019.

    The 10th edition of Makedox screened 70 films in six sections. This year's edition focused on coproduction. 

    Macedonian Oscar nominee Honeyland / Медена земја by Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska, which closed the festival, split the Young Onion Award for a newcomer with Gods of Molenbeek/ Aatos ja Amine by Reetta Huhtanen (a coproduction between Finland, Belgium and Germany).

    Makedox is organised with the support of the North Macedonia Film Agency and Creative Europe MEDIA with support from National Endowment for Democracy, City of Skopje and many national institutions, as well as embassies and institutes.
