MALTA: A conference entitled The Cinema of Small Nations is being organised by the Film Grain Foundation in conjunction with the Malta Film Commission and will be held in Valletta, Malta between the 9th and 10th of June 2016 as part of the second edition of the Valletta Film Festival (VFF).
The conference will open today with a speech by Englebert Grech the Film Commissioner for Malta. This will be followed by an address on the Film New Europe Association by Anna Franklin, publisher of FNE Daily.
Experts speaking at the conference panels include Anna Franklin from the FNE Association, Henning Camre, the Executive Director of the European Think Tank on Film Public Policy, Laufey Guthsdottir, the Director of the Icelandic Film Centre and Laila Pakalnina, the Latvian filmmaker and screenwriter, will be sharing their expertise at the conference. The topics of Content Creation in Small States, Film Public Policy, Film Education, The Future of Film and Digital Change in Small States will all be discussed.
