Twenty-four films will be screened during the 10th edition of the European Film Festival in Malta which begins April 12 and lasts through May 8. The event is organised by the European Commission Representation in Malta.
The festival will open with a Maltese film called Heroes in the Sky and will feature a number of prominent directors, including Lars von Trier and Yasmine Kassari, according to the Malta Independent online.
It will also present two evenings of short films: an evening of Maltese short films on April 24, and a selection of Polish short films on May 4.
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region. The webportal and FNE newswire was chosen as the MAIN TOOL to achieve the network’s objectives of the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the VOICE of the region.
FNE’s objectives include VISIBILITY for the region and AUDIENCES for films by providing a special focus on the region.
