Battle Of Warsaw 1920 is an epic war melodrama set in WWI. Jan, a left-wing poet and cavalryman get called into front and decides to marry a theater actress before he leaves. While he is gone, the girl is harassed by an unwanted admirer and decides to join the Voluntary Legion Of Women preparing to defend Warsaw in the upcoming battle.

The film is one of the most expensive Polish productions of all time and the first title fully made in 3D technology. The film is produced by the director's company Zodiak Jerzy Hoffman Film Production (www.zodiak-jerzyhoffman.pl ) with a budget of 18 million PLN, 50% financed by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl).

Hoffman, one of the most accomplished Polish filmmakers, known for his work with costume dramas, worked with cinematographer Sławomir Idziak. The star cast includes Natasza Urbańska, a popular Polish singer and actress and Borys Szyc, who has been recently awarded the Best Actor prize at the IFF Monteral. They cast of over 80 actors and over 3,500 extras include legends of Polish cinema such as Daniel Olbrzychski, Wojciech Pszoniak, Wiktor Zborowski, Ewa Wiśniewska and Stanisław Celińska. The music for the film was composed by Krzesimir Dębski, who will also make his debut as an actor.

The film will be presented in Chicago between 14 and 20 October 2011. The Polish premiere of the picture is planned for 30 September 2011 and distributed by Forum Film Poland (www.forumfilm.pl).
