FilmBox Poland Reports Record Growth

    WARSAW: The Polish niche channel Filmbox (www.spi.pl ) noted a 75.3% audience increase in October 2011, the company reported, relying on data from the Nielsen ratings.

    Filmbox is a basic cable channel with 5.2 million households in Poland and is operated by SPI International, afilm and television content provider operating in the area of theatrical, DVD and VOD distribution as well as production and distribution of pay TV channels across Central Europe.

    I the first three quarters of 2011, Filmbox saw 94% share increase among the four Polish film channels, and 45.1% growth rate in the 16-49 age group.

    Filmbox also operates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania along with its brand channels including Filmbox HD, Filmbox Family, Filmbox Extra, Filmbox Extra 1 and Filmbox Plus.
