Polish Companies Support US Indie Projects

    WROCŁAW: Five American independent films presented at the US IN PROGRESS event during the 3rd American Film Festival (www.americanfilmfestival.pl) will receive Polish support.

    The films, now at the postproduction stage, were presented to 60 European film professionals attending the event.

    Polish VFX studio Platige Image (www.platige.com) will grant $10,000 of postproduction services to Hide Your Smiling Faces by Daniel Carbone. The film will also receive subtitling services from DCinex (www.dcinex.com) and VSIParis/Chinkel (www.vsi-paris.tv) worth $5,000.

    Alvernia Studios (www.alvernia.com) will support Bluebird by Lance Edmands with 10,000 EUR in postproduction services.

    A Song Still Inside by Gregory Collins will get a soundtrack valued at $10,000 from the Polish composer Maciej Zieliński of Soundflower Studio (www.soundflower.pl) from Warsaw.

    A jury also awarded Matt Porterfield’s film I Used to be Darker with promotion and distribution support from Europa Distribution (www.europa-distribution.org) and CICAE (www.cicae.org).

    The producers of Hide Your Smiling Faces (Jordan Bailey-Hoover) and Milkshake (Mariko Munro) will receive free passes for the 2013 Cannes Producers’ Network.
