PRODUCTION: Zanussi Begins Shooting The Foreign Body

    WARSAW: Krzysztof Zanussi (Persona Non Grata, 2005) has started a 30 day filming schedule on The Foreign Body (Obce ciało), also known as Inner Voice (Głos wewnętrzny).

    The film takes place in present day Italy, Russia and Poland. Angelo is a young Italian involved in one of the Catholic renewal movements. He comes to Poland following a woman he loves who has has resolved to take the veil, in hopes of changing her mind. 

    The shooting begna in Ancona, Italy. After four days the crew moves to Warsaw and Moscow. The Foreign Body will be shot in color on the 35mm film by rising young Polish cinematographer Piotr Niemyjski (Fear of Falling).

    The film’s delegate producer is Polish Tor Film Production, and the co-producers are Italian Revolver Film and Russia’s Fora Film. The Polish Film Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage co-financed the project. Its total budget is 6.9 m PLN (1.7 m EUR).

    The film premiere is tentatively scheduled for the beginning of 2014.
