WARSAW: Polish director Jacek Borcuch has announced he will be one of the country's pioneering adopters of iTunes as a distribution platform when his feature, Lasting (www.manana.pl) on a struggling couple goes out on Apple's online store. The film will be released in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Israel, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America on the system.

Digital distribution will be gradually extended to other territories, complementing traditional distribution at festivals, cinemas, on DVD and TV. Lasting joins iTunes as a part of IFFR in the Cloud program, a partnership between the International Film Festival Rotterdam and iTunes preferred aggregator Under The Milky Way.

Lasting features a cast of Polish and Spanish stars, including Jakub Gierszał, Magdalena Berus, Ángela Molina, Juanjo Ballesta and Andrzej Chyra. The romance follows Michał and Karina, a pair of Polish students who meet and fall in love while working summer jobs in Spain but who soon face an unexpected nightmare amid the heavenly landscape.
