Cinema City Expanding in Poland

    WARSAW: Cinema City Poland announced plans to build a six screen multiplex in Starogard Gdański.

    The company signed an agreement with Galeria Neptun for the approximately 1000 seat multiplex planned to open in late 2014.

    Cinema City has lease agreements for 8 future multiplexes with 88 screens across Poland. Additional locations are being negotiated.

    Moshe (Mooky) Greidinger CEO of Cinema City International said in a statement: “We are happy to continue our development in Poland. The Polish market represents considerable growth opportunities in different local markets.”

    The population area of this multiplex is 250,000. In Poland the Cinema City chain consists of 31 cinemas with 339 screens including 5 large 3D IMAX theatres and a 4DX auditorium in Cinema City Arkadia. The company continues expanding in the country.

    Cinema City International is the leading multiplex cinema operator in CEE and Israel, with 100 multiplexes and 974 screens in seven countries including Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Poland. It sold a total of 36.3 million tickets in 2012.
