Stopklatka TV Signs with Polsat

By

WARSAW: New film channel Stopklatka TV will be available through satellite provider Cyfrowy Polsat. The channel will also be available via ground digital transmitters and VOD.

Cyfrowy Polsat and Stopklatka TV, who signed a contract last week, said that the new TV channel devoted to cinema will be available via one of Polsat's satellite transponders and become the part of the broadest program packet offered by the platform. This furthers the co-operation between the two companies and follows a previous contract signed in December 2013 for Polsat Media to manage the sale of advertising for Stoplatka TV. Since 2011 Polsat Media has been selling adds for Kino Polska TV, the creator and major shareholder of the new channel. Cyfrowy Polsat has over 3.5 m subscribers in Poland.

Stopklatka TV, a joint initiative of Kino Polska TV, Stopklatka and Agora, will be launched on 28 April 2014 at the latest, but Kino Polska TV plans to start broadcasting in February.

In addition to being a part of the cable offer, the channel will be available publicly. Stopklatka TV won the contest held by the National Broadcasting Chamber and received a broadcasting frequency on Poland’s first ground digital multiplex transmitter MUX-1. The frequency is currently used by public broadcaster TVP. The channel will also be available through one of the biggest Polish Internet television broadcasters, ipla.
