PARIS: Pawel Pawlikowski’s Ida topped 400,000 admissions in France over the weekend of 21-23 March 2014, making it the third best performing Polish film ever released in France.

Ida’s performance bested those of Andrzej Wajda's Solidarity era masterpiece Man of Iron (378,148 admissions), and is the best-selling Polish film in France in the last 65 years.

The film reached 50,000 admissions in Italy in its second week of release and has opened to critical and commercial success in Belgium and Switzerland.

The Polish-Danish coproduction from Opus Film and Phonex Film, in association with Portobello Pictures (UK), has been sold to 33 countries and will open in The Netherlands and Spain at the end of March before travelling on to the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand in May.
