WARSAW: National Geographic Channels International has commissioned a four-part documentary series about the history WWII to be filmed in the Baltic region.

Nazi War Diggers produced by ClearStory will explore the history of brutal combat on the Eastern front during WWII. A special team comprised of Craig Gottlieb, Stephen Taylor, Kris Rodgers and Adrian Kostromski will use new technology and an archaeological approach to discover the real stories and souvenirs left after this tragic period in European history. The shoot will launch in Poland and the Baltic countries in April and the premiere of the series is planned for 14 May 2014.

The producers are Russell Barnes and Molly Milton of ClearStory.

"The Eastern front of WWII was the setting of one of the bloodiest combats in the history of humanity and presently the time is running out for us to conserve the historical truth hidden literally underneath the earth. Our series is not only about the people who died during these fights but also shows how to ethically preserve the remaining evidences and the dignity of those, who created history," Barnes said.
