Bollywood Kicks off Warsaw Shooting

    WARSAW: Bollywood thriller Kick starts shooting on 11 April 2014 in Warsaw.

    Film Commission Poland told FNE that the spend of the 18-day shoot in Warsaw is 6 m PLN.

    Randeep Hooda in WarsawKick follows three characters whose paths cross in Warsaw. The film is directed by Sajid Nadiadwala starring top Hindu actors, Salman Khan and Randeep Hooda. The shoot will take place on location by the Palace of Culture and Science, at the Gdański Bridge, in the Marszałkowska and Piękna Streets as well as at the Constitution Square, and on the outskirts of the city.

    The Polish coproducer is Film Polska Productions and the project is supported by Film Commission Poland.

    ‘Initially, the authors had considered setting the main action of the film in London. However, Warsaw won in the end as a city bringing more freshness, giving more inspiration and more space for artistic creativity,’ said Krzysztof Sołek, President of Film Polska Productions

    "During the initial stage of the project intention letters coming from Film Commission Poland and other Polish partners took a major part in convincing the producers that they will get the support they need during the preparation and duration of the shoot in Warsaw. (...) Warsaw is changing and wants to be internationally recognized," said Tomasz Dąbrowski, Head of Film Commission Poland.

    Film Polska Productions has coproduced some forty advertisements and two feature films for the Indian market. Their portfolio includes projects made in co-operation with National Geographic, History Channel, BBC (Great Britain), ARD, ZDF (Germany), SyFy (Canada), and Channel 9 (Australia).
