    WARSAW: Tomasz Wasilewski’s controversial drama Floating Skyscrapers opens in France on 14 May 2014.

    Production company Alter Ego Pictures told FNE that the film will be distributed in France by Outplay under the title Ligne d'eau.

    Floating Skyscrapers follows the life of a young man who leads a "picture perfect" life, with his career in professional sports ready to launch and a loving woman at his side. When he discovers that he is attracted to another man he is forced to reevaluate everything he thought he believed.  

    The cast includes Marta Nieradkiewicz, Mateusz Banasiuk, Katarzyna Herman, Bartosz Gelner. The director of photography is Jakub Kijowski, and the music score is composed by Leszek Możdżer. The film was made with the financial support of the Polish Film Institute.

    The film had its international premiere at the 2013 Tribeca IFF and opened in Poland on 22 November 2013 followed by UK distribution launched on 6 December 2013. It quickly became one of the most internationally and locally recognized Polish films, winning the Main Prize in the East of the West section of 48. IFF in Karlovy Vary and the Best Young Directing Prize at the 38th Gdynia Film Festival where Marta Nieradkiewicz was also awarded the Best Supporting Actress Prize. Mateusz Banasiuk won the Best Actor prizes at the Awantura IFF in Croatia and the 9th À l'Est, du Nouveau Festival in France.
