TVP Commissions Firefighting Drama

    WARSAW: Baltmedia will begin production on a new original Polish series about firefighters for Poland’s public broadcaster in June 2014.

    TVP has commissioned a first season of 10 episodes of 40 minutes each. The show is produced by Baltmedia, a company that is a part of ATM Group. The producers informed FNE that they approached TVP with the project two years ago. Shoot for the drama is planned to launch in the second half of June 2014. The producer is
    currently holding open call castings for the leading roles in the show.

    The series will follow the lives and jobs of a firefighting squad. The city and location of the show has not yet been announced. TVP announced the need for this type of show written and made originally in Poland over two years ago and was approached with several projects from different companies. TVP told FNE that the show will have its premiere on TVP1 (which currently has a 12.39% share of the market) in the spring of 2015 with plans to add a number of episodes in the coming seasons and prolong each episode to 90 minutes if the show gets good ratings.
