TVP Introduces VOD to Hybrid Platform

By

WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster TVP is making a selection of its library of productions available via video on demand in Poland and outside the country.

The station informed FNE that the new VOD service will include drama series, feature films, documentaries, socio-political broadcasts, cultural and information news services as well as film events. The library will grow daily with new additions compatible with what the public broadcaster has in the current line-up.

The video on demand service will be a part of TVP's Hybrid Platform which launched in December 2012 as a fusion between the traditional television and the Internet and was created in order to compete with new services introduced by private broadcasters such as tvn player and the Polish version of HBO GO.

Content produced by and for TVP will be available for free to all viewers in Poland and outside of the country with the exclusion of North and South America. The Hybrid Platform is available to subscribers who have TV sets within reach of the ground digital signal and have a special HbbTV function.
