WARSAW: Poland’s public broadcaster Polish TV has expanded its digital coverage to 99.5 percent of the population, according to the Ministry of Administration and Digitalisation.
A Telecom paper report notes that TVP’s analogue coverage was just 98.7 percent of the population.
The flagship station TVP 1 covers 98.7 percent of the population, and its MUX-3 third multiplex, which broadcasts seven TVP channels, extends to 99.5 percent of the population.
By comparison, the commercial channels cover 98.5 percent of the population via MUX-2, the second multiplex, and the first multiplex MUX-1 which broadcasts a number of newer niche channels reaches 98.6 percent.
