WARSAW: Following a good critical reception at the 39. Gdynia Film Festival, the WWII drama by Jan Komasa soared to the top of the Polish box office in its opening weekend with over 191 900 admissions on 330 screens.

The result makes Komasa's film the second best WWII drama opening in Poland since 265 310 tickets were sold during the opening weekend of Andrzej Wajda's Katyń in 2007.  Both films were produced by Akson Studio. Warsaw 44 is distributed in Poland by Kino Świat.
