PRODUCTION: Michał Szczerbic Shooting New Polish Drama Fair

    WARSAW: Accomplished Polish producer and screenwriter Michał Szczerbic makes his feature debut with a WWII drama Fair (Sprawiedliwy).

    Shooting on Fair, started on 19 September on location in Radziejowice, Kampinos and the Mazuria region and will wrap 23 October 2014. Set in 1942, the film follows Pajtek, a man who is considered a suspicious weirdo by his community. He strikes up a friendship with a 6-year-old Jewish girl and together they embrace their outsider status and face the cruelty of war.

    Produced by WFDiF with a budget of 4m PLN, the project received 2m PLN of production support from the Polish Film Institute. For his debut feature, Szczerbic managed to gather an all star cast of Polish actors including Aleksandra Hamkało, Urszula Grabowska, Jan Wieczorkowski, and Beata Tyszkiewicz.

    The premiere is planned for the second half of 2015. Its Polish distributor is Monolith Films.
