Warsaw 44 Surpasses One Million Admissions

    WARSAW: Warsaw 44 has gathered 1,040,000 admissions in just 17 days after its opening making Jan Komasa's drama about the Warsaw Uprising one of the most popular Polish titles in the last decade.

    Only three other domestic titles have matched this success, You Are God by Leszek Dawid and produced by Studio Filmowe KADR, Oh Karol 2 by Piotr Wereśniak and produced by MTL Maxfilm and Letters To Santa produced by TVN and directed by Mitja Okorn. Each of them sold one million ticketsin the first 17 days after their release.

    Warsaw 44 is distributed in Poland by Kino Świat on more than 300 screens. The film was produced by Akson Studio in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, Orange Polska, Narodowe Centrum Kultury, Mazowiecki InstytutKultury, Mazowiecki Fundusz Filmowy, Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego.

    The current box office record in Poland is Władysław Pasikowski's Jack Strong with admissions of 1,173,000.
