WARSAW: Akson Studio, one of the major Polish production companies, created its own distribution brand on the Polish market, Akson Dystrybucja, that will work with Akson Studio productions and also with other titles.

"We plan to release Akson Studio films in the Polish cinemas, but at the same time we are very open to productions made outside Akson", Olga Kwiecińska, the initiator and director of Akson Dystrybucja, said in a statement.

The company will represent a business model still new on the Polish market, where a production studio and a distribution company are joined into one organism allowing a cohesive production-distribution structure from the very beginning of production.

The launch of the company was announced on 11 July 2016 with no future distribution titles confirmed so far. In the last five years films made by Akson Studio have reached the top 20 of Polish box office hits, most notably Warsaw 44 by Jan Komasa with 1,752,108 tickets sold in 2014 and Wałęsa. A Man of Hope by Andrzej Wajda with 970,520 tickets sold in 2013.
